Seminar on Stress Management - 2008

The Ladies' Wing of New Bengal Club had organized a seminar on "Stress management" on 23/02/08 from 4:30 to 6:45 pm. The target audience was students from 8th to 12th Std.

The seminar was conducted by representatives of a renowned organization "Symphony". The motto of this organization is "Discover the power within", purpose being "Making a difference" and their vision 'People being happy, successful and contended'. The main idea behind this workshop was "Making champions of People".

The session was expertly, interestingly and humorously conducted by:

  • Ms. Sushma Palan - Member of Symphony, special educator and trained counselor.
  • Mr. Paresh Shah - Founder member of Symphony and in business of Chemical and Paint manufacturing.
  • Mr. Arvind Shah - Member of Symphony, commercial artist and a photographer.

The session was open to children of club members and their friends too. There were 17 participants. Each of them thoroughly enjoyed the programme and took back invaluable inputs, which in future will definitely make them a better student, person and an achiever.

The topics covered were:

STD X

  • Switch on the light of your goal
  • Self motivation
  • Positive alteration in habits
  • How to definitely increase current percentage by 5%
  • Time management
  • Ideal timetable for 10th and 12th STD
  • Exam preparation, Revision techniques
  • Importance of studying all kinds of subjects

The session, originally planned for 1.5 hour had to be extended by 45 minutes to satisfy all the queries of the participants. It was very unfortunate that such an excellent programme could reach only 17 children from a club with a membership of around 170 families.

At the end of the programme everybody enjoyed some refreshment provided by the club.
