Ms. Rajasree Dasgupta welcomed and introduced Dr. Ashima Bhaumik to the audience showering with words of praise for her work in medical science. Ms. Mousumi Mukherjee, in her welcome speech, further highlighted the accomplishment of Dr. Bhaumik as a medical professional in the field of obstetrics, gynaecology and surgical oncology.
Dr. Bhaumik currently teaches in the department of Public health at K J Somaiya Medical College and Research Centre, Mumbai. She has anchored a number of medical conferences at the national level and has been a speaker in numerous conferences and seminars.
After the introductory session, Dr. Bhaumik started her talk with the mention about her visits to our Durga puja pandal every year and expressed that she loves the way we conduct the festival.
She spoke in general about the different symptoms and effects of Menopause, and explained the importance of awareness on these. She also spoke about Breast Cancer and its linkage to Menopause.

She also spoke on Natural and Hormonal therapy and shared some medicinal tips.
The session was wonderful and attendees asked various questions. Dr. Ashima delighted all with her lucid answers.
At the end of the session while thanking Dr Bhaumik, Ms. Rajasree Dasgupta announced that a token of gratitude will be presented to her by NBC shortly. Vote of thanks was given by Ms. Monika Sarkar (LW Vice President). She thanked Dr. Ashima for the wonderful session and a very fruitful discussion. She also thanked the audience for interactive participation.
A small belief - “when we hear such motivated people on talk show, all our problems shrinks and we bestow our faith in the solution”. We look forward to many such sessions in future too.
