A social outreach program was conducted for underprivileged women from select local slums by the NBC Ladies' wing on 15.01.2020. Wives of construction workers and others, who are struggling in daily life, attended the program. Couple of them got married at an early age before even attaining adulthood.
Interaction on various topics like socioeconomic impact on their life styles, self-awareness & protection, tidiness, their dreams & desires, how to reach the goal, happiness, satisfaction, etc. were made.
Besides, making them aware of different aspects of daily life, like usage of appropriate language, hygienic dressing, personal hygiene, care for their children, importance of education and self-awareness with a focus on good health were also discussed.
They all expressed their first time experience of this type of care-centric program and felt very happy.
They interacted frankly on their present state of life, responsibilities, dreams, their feelings regarding the socioeconomic variation in lives, problems faced, scope for development in their family lives and their source of inspiration.
Entire event was conducted by Mou Dutta who anchored the interactive session using lucid language, mainly Hindi and partially Bengali.
All the participants were presented a useful gift for domestic use besides fruits, snacks and a pack of female personal hygiene care product.
All in all it was an enriching session with lot of positive response from all the women present. Our Ladies' wing members present were also very happy to conduct such program and vow to do more in future.
