Silent ceremony of candle lighting as homage to India's bravehearts - 2008

"New Bengal Club , Lokpuram , Thane salutes all the bravehearts of  NSG ,Mumbai ATS ,Mumbai Police , Army and Navy commandoes, RAF and Mumbai Fire brigades those who laid down their lives as well as those who  fought valiantly to rescue Historic  Taj Hotel , CST and Trident/ Oberoi Hotel from the clutches of terrorists in the recent encounter in our city of Mumbai."

New Bengal Club has decided to pay homage to all the bravehearts of NSG, Mumbai ATS, Mumbai Police, Army and Navy Commandos, who have laid down their lives during fighting with the terrorists in recent attack on Mumbai, through a simple and silent ceremony of candle lighting in front of Hiranandani Meadows at 8-30 pm on Wednesday 3rd December'08. Please be present with your family and friends to pay homage to those bravehearts.

New Bengal Club–Thane, a Socio-Cultural organisation from Lokpuram, Thane (W), organised a silent candle lighting ceremony to pay homage to all the bravehearts of NSG, Mumbai ATS, Mumbai Police, RPF, Army & Navy Commandos who laid down their lives & all the victims who lost their lives during the recent terrorists attack of 26/11 in Mumbai.

It was arranged on 3rd December 2008 (Wednesday) at Hiranandani Meadows near erstwhile Tru Mart where on decorated tables few relevant posters and news paper clippings were displayed. Flower vases and burning incense sticks also were present on the tables. Candle lighting arrangement was made on two big brass plates.

The programme started at about 7.30 pm in the evening with chorus singing of our national song Vande Mataram. This was followed by a short meditation with chanting of ‘Om’ and a prayer for World peace.

About 200 people, from kids to senior citizens joined the programme to pay ‘Shraddhanjali’ and lit candles. The programme continued upto 10 pm in the night
