This year New Bengal Club, Lokpuram , Thane will be celebrating 8th year of their Puja at the same venue of last year.
Idol by: In an attempt to make something different , the club has asked famous artiste Mr. Shibu Pal to make this year’s Durga Idol.
Durga Puja Souvenir: The Souvenir Committee invites articles from members for publishing in Durga Puja Souvenir after scrutiny and selection by the committee particularly on topics like Mythological and current topics on National/International issues and short stories. All articles to be written preferably in English for our diverse readers. Last date of submission 10th September'09
New Bengal Club invites all the devotees irrespective of caste, creed and religion to join the festival and also to obtain the blessings of Maa Durga for the well being of every one.

Added attraction are the Raffle Prizes every hour and, Bumper Prizes at 5,6,7,8,9 & 10 pm.

After a year long wait finally the much awaited Durga Puja celebration began with Anandomela on 23rd September 2009 from 4:00 p.m.
The pandal with stunning decoration, beautiful face of Ma Durga as a backdrop on stage, colourful posters, game stalls, stacks of colourful gifts, aroma of Bengal delicacies waiting in from the food stalls created the perfect ambiance for a fun filled evening.
There are more than 30 nos. non-food table & 15 Nos. food table along with 10 games table will be laid out beautifully with variety of items for exhibition and sale. Many of them will do brisk business throughout the evening.
Chief guest for the evening will inaugurate the event by lighting a huge lamp. They will be assisted by the senior active members of ladies wing. Encouragement for NBC and especially the Ladies wing for organizing such an event will be coming from various corporate well wishers as well as small entrepreneurs:
Alongside the exhibition various programs will be conducted on stage. Dance competition will be followed by some instrumental performance. Interesting spot prizes will be given. Every year children enjoy the games organized by the ladies wing.
Every year Ladies Wing of NBC tirelessly works to make this event a grand success. Lets have brain storming sessions and open discussions to retain the ANANDA in the MELA and make it even more interesting in the years to come!
